Thank you Town Talk!

Rapides Cemetery is “too great a treasure to keep hidden any longer.”

So says Bobby Hynson, a board member of the Historical Association of Central Louisiana and one of the organizers of an effort to clean up and preserve the historic burial ground in Pineville.

“There’s so many stories there,” Hynson said. “When you think about the famous people, the politicians, just the ordinary folks buried there, plus the scoundrels and the scalawags, we can come up with a list of characters that’s second to none.” To read more click here

Clean Up Day: November 29th! Mark your Calendar!

Hello dear friends,

Mark your calendars now for our monthly clean up.  November 29th at 8:00 a.m. we will meet and work on a couple clean projects at the Historic Rapides Cemetery, 201 Hatti Street, Pineville, Louisiana. Please forward this post to anyone you think would be interested in helping us with this project.

Below are pictures from our last clean up day. A special thank you to those who joined us from the Youth Challenge Program. Also, thanks to Jackson Sleet, Charles Charrier, Brent Morock, Fr. Chad Partain, Bobby Hynson and many, many, more who work tirelessly to preserve and upkeep this beautiful gem in Central Louisiana.
